Noah Wall's Beekeeping Journey | #HugsForNoah
As Noah’s mum, it has been wonderful to watch his interest in bees grow over time. When he was a just year old we would take him out pointing at the flowers and the bees, saying buzzzz buzzzz, he would then repeat the sound. He also loved sitting amongst the lavender watching all of the bees it brought to the garden. What started as simple curiosity has slowly turned into creativity, excitement, and now the early ideas for what could one day become his own bee-themed business.
September 2024 – Noah Meets Adrian’s Bees
In September 2024 Noah was given a very special opportunity to visit Uncle Adrian and see his bees. Noah has been interested in bees and beehives for a long time, so he was incredibly excited about the visit.
Adrian was very kind and invited Noah along to learn more about them. To make things easier, and to keep Noah warm and safe from the bees flying around, Adrian brought pieces of the hive inside. This allowed Noah to take a really good look at the different parts of the hive and ask lots of questions without getting in the way of the bees outside.
It was lovely to see how fascinated Noah was by everything. He even had a taste of the honey directly from the hive!
October 2024 – Designing His First Label
The following month, Adrian kindly told Noah he could have a pot or two of honey. Noah was absolutely thrilled, and very quickly decided he wanted to design his own label for the jar.
To help him visualise his idea, I placed an A4 sheet of paper in front of him and said, “Pretend this is a label for your jar.” I then asked Noah to look up pictures of bees and hives on Google, save them, and print them out.
Once printed, I helped him cut them out, but Noah already knew exactly where he wanted everything to go. He carefully arranged each image until he was happy with how it looked.
The next step was to trace the design onto Procreate so it could be turned into a proper logo. At that point Noah said to me, “Mum, I really can’t draw bees at all, you draw them.”
So I drew what I thought was a very simple bee… a circle with wings! Noah burst out laughing and said, “That’s not good at all!”
That was a perfect moment to explain that it’s completely okay to ask for help when you need it. With that in mind, Noah contacted a printing company in Carlisle and asked if they could create a mock-up of the logo he had designed. Their designer Matt very kindly brought all of Noah’s ideas together exactly as he had imagined them.
Noah thought it was incredible, but after having a look at the first draft of the logo, he said “there’s something missing from the label, me and my wheelchair”!
“If I can do this, then anyone can” he explained.
March 2025 – The Birthday Surprise
In March 2025 Noah received an incredible surprise for his 13th birthday.
Uncle Adrian & Aunty Liz gifted him his very own beehive.
The look on Noah’s face was unforgettable. He was completely shocked and over the moon at the same time. From that moment on, his mind was absolutely buzzing with ideas about what he could do with his hive and how he might build something around his love for bees.
A Hive Full of Ideas
From March onwards Noah seemed to have a constant stream of ideas. Almost every day he would wake up with new plans for products, projects, and ways he might turn his interest in bees into something bigger.
It has been amazing to watch his creativity grow. Some days he would come up with several ideas before the day had even properly started!
November 2025 – The Labels Arrive
In November 2025 the printed labels finally arrived.
Seeing Noah open the package and realise that his idea had become a real printed label was such a special moment. What had started as cut-out pictures on an A4 page had now turned into something real that he could use on products.
He was incredibly excited and immediately started talking about what he could make next.
December 2025 – Making Gifts
December became a month of creating. Noah spent time making gifts for family and friends, which also gave him the chance to use his new labels for the first time.
He enjoyed every part of the process — mixing products, choosing colours, adding essential oils, and helping fill the jars. The final step, of course, was carefully adding his label to each finished item.
Seeing his pride in those finished products made all the effort worthwhile.
Looking Ahead
Noah is already looking forward to creating more products and developing more ideas. It’s quite common for him to wake up in the morning with another plan or new thought about what he could do next with his bee-themed business.
As his mum, it’s been a joy to watch his passion grow, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes him.
